Arthrostim Adjustor
We also use a special instrument called an Arthrostim Adjustor (see right) to adjust your spine. It is unique because it produces rapid thrusts at a rate of 12 times per second (frequency known as 'the low beta somatomotor rhythm'). This creates specific adjustive energy (force) and a barrage of afferent/information that the nervous system can use to modify dysfunctional patterns. It capitalizes on the natural feedback cycle, which the nervous system uses to organize itself. The rapid thrust activates the patient's proprioceptors and mechanoreceptors without affecting the pain receptors. By utilizing the same mechanisms that the nervous system uses to control body biomechanics, corrections can be achieved using reduced force.

Arthrostim Adjustor in Use

The Arthrostim Adjustor is especially useful on those patients who have brittle bones (osteoporosis) or are experiencing significant pain. Children and others who are apprehensive can benefit where a light and gentle thrust is indicated.

Disc Table

Our practice utilizes the Leander Flexion Table (see below). This table combines two biomechanical activities: Distraction (to pull apart) and Flexion (to bend). Some of the Benefits from using this table include:

Massage

Message Therapy

Massage Therapy is performed in our office as an adjunct to the chiropractic adjustment. Dr. Ronning is a graduate of the Honolulu School of Massage and is actively involved in all of the training of all of the massage therapist that work for him in the clinic. There are specific techniques that are used in the office that are for therapeutic purposes only. Among them are deep tissue, pin and stretch and Vertebral Muscle Spasm Release. Vertebral Muscle Spasm Release is a technique that Dr. Ronning has devised to relax tight muscles around the vertebrae. This allows the vertebrae to stay longer in a position that they are adjusted in which will tend to make the adjustment hold longer. To ensure quality service all massage therapy is prescribed and directed by Dr. Ronning. All of the employees are graduates of an accredited massage school, are licensed and insured for patient’s safety.
